Liberais podem pedir ajuda a Howard

Publicado por Rui Passos Rocha em Novembro 26, 2007

«As Kevin Rudd savours the delights of coast-to-coast Labor governments, the Liberals are faced with the daunting task of rebuilding a party shattered at every level. And ironically, even though he led the Coalition to a stunning election defeat, there may be a crucial role for John Howard in tackling this challenge, starting in his home state of NSW. The federal Liberal Party really lost touch with the electorate only some time last year, probably brought on by a mixture of internal leadership squabbling and fatigue. Before that, Howard had shown a shrewdness in knowing how to win and retain the trust and confidence of the broad community. The party at a state level, on the other hand, lost the plot ages ago and has floundered under successive Labor governments. The NSW branch of the Liberal Party has failed to lay a glove on its opponents, being more interested in pursuing an extreme right-wing factional jihad against itself.»
